Stephanie Daniel Helps Every Student at Rose Garden Elementary Make His or Her Own Music

Stephanie Daniel has always had a song in her heart. For the past eight years, she has drawn her elementary students in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City school district into her love of music.

"I was in choir and band all through school and I love it, love it, love it. I have always wanted to teach it like my teachers. I wanted to do what they did," Daniel says.

The young musicians mirror her enthusiasm as she gently draws beautiful sounds out of them. The instruments they use, recorders and Orff drums, fill Rose Garden Elementary corridors with haunting sounds. She teaches them to express themselves through their instruments. It is Stephanie Daniel’s hope that their love of music will make things a little better for her students each day. The students seem to agree with her. As one student said, "Sometimes, when you’re having a bad day in school and you get to Music and it makes it a little bit better." Daniel has been teaching music, but she also has been nurturing her students’ creative souls. She truly believes that learning to appreciate music will make a difference in her students’ lives. & My goal is for every student to make his or her own music."
