Mr. Robert Boucher Keeps Science Alive | ![]() |
A boisterous 7th grade crowd cheered as Mr. Robert Boucher was given the Golden Apple award from Deborah Knapp of KENS-5 TV. Mr. Boucher has only been teaching for two years at McAuliffe Jr. High School, but he brings a lifetime of experience to the job. Boucher spent 20 years in the military and then 10 years as a stay-at-home dad.
His classroom is filled with creepy crawlers which include snakes, spiders, and even a Madagascar hissing cockroach. Mr. Boucher uses these living things as a unique way to connect with his class.
Most of all, Mr. Boucher wants to instill a love of learning to everyone in his class. "I want them to go with a great deal of confidence to high school knowing they're going to graduate and be successful."
