Carole Henry Inspires Students in Southwest ISD | ![]() |
Carole Henry is filled with enthusiasm and passion for teaching her students chemistry. But it is her personal chemistry with her students that speaks to the kind of teacher she is.
Ms. Henry teaches 10-12th grade chemistry, to include Advanced Placement Chemistry, Pre AP Chemistry, and General Chemistry. Four years ago, she instituted a Chemistry Honor Society, which has recently become a member of the American Chemical Society.
She genuinely loves her students and wants them to succeed. "They need to be told that they are an asset on a daily basis so that they can understand how important they are. Each student must be able to feel that they have a worth beyond measure so that they will live up to their potential."
And although Ms. Henry has won numerous awards throughout her career, she believes her true reward is her students. "You give me hope that there is a better future. Your enthusiasm and dedication to starting your life motivates me. I hold deep in my heart your love," Henry exclaimed to an auditorium filled with her students as she accepted her Golden Apple Award.
