Rachal Kaspar Creates Life-Long Learners | ![]() |
Kindergarten is the foundation that gives children the skills they need to succeed. No one understands that better than Rachel Kaspar, kindergarten teacher at Arlon Seay Elementary School in Comal ISD and ExCEL Golden Apple Award winner for the district.
"My academic goal is to have them all reading by the end of the year," Kaspar said. "My overall goal for them is for them to be a whole child who is confident, self assured and just knows that they can do anything."
She encourages these young children and makes learning fun. "This is the perfect job for me because I get to serve these little ones every day," she says.
Rachel Kaspar found her calling at an early age; she was only 10 years old when her 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Rigby, asked her to help tutor one of her peers.
"Mrs. Rigby inspired me and said this is something you can do," she recalls her former teacher telling her. "I see it in you, and she helped me to grow."
Now Ms. Kaspar is using her gift of instruction to motivate the young minds that begin their education in her classroom. Kaspar explains, "Teachers make a difference. I am proud to be among them."
