Qualifications

Include:

 

 

 
  • Minimum eight years experience in residential mortgage lending or real estate loan closings
  • College degree, preferred; Some college acceptable
  • Knowledge of residential mortgage lending rules and regulations governed by state and federal agencies
  • Ability to effectively communicate lending policies and procedures to members and business sources
  • Strong PC skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook and preferably mortgage loan operating systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and time management skills
  • The ability to use good, sound judgment
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and meeting challenging deadlines
  • Possess strong analytical skills and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for working in a team environment

Duties:

 

 

 
  • Close residential loans according to credit union lending policies, and state and federal regulations; Accountable for properly closing all types of mortgage loan transactions including construction loans ensuring all legal documents are properly executed and collateral is appropriately secured
  • Review and prepare closing documentation on approved and processed residential mortgage loans in accordance with underwriting conditions and SACU’s policies
  • Consultation with title companies, borrowers, attorneys, mortgage brokers, realtors and/or other external business partners
  • Independently and proactively resolve problems under time constraints
  • Accurately review data gathered prior to and post closing
  • Stay abreast of internal lending policies, practices, guidelines, lending systems and products
  • Accurately record data in Loan Origination System
  • Prepare loan file for transfer in an accurate and  timely manner
  • Attend internal and external educational learning in order to stay abreast of lending policies and procedures; Meet annual training requirements; Pass SACU product knowledge test by 90% or better; Complete and pass course requirements specific to the closing position
  • Other duties as assigned
