SACU announces that the following directors will serve as officers of the SACU Board of Directors for 2009–2010 fiscal year: Franklin W. Burk, chairman; Richard Rodriguez, vice chairman; Debs McCrary, secretary; and John W. Hayes, treasurer.
Burk, a Certified Public Accountant and retired audit partner with Carniero, Chumney & Co., L.C., was elected to the board in 1992 and served as board secretary from 1996–2008. He served as board vice chairman from 1994-1996 and previously served on the SACU Supervisory Committee from 1991–1992. He has been a member of SACU since 1991.
Rodriguez, vice president of facilities for University Health System, was elected to the board in 1998 and served as board treasurer from 2000–2008. He served on the SACU Supervisory Committee from 1993–1998 and as supervisory committee chairman from 1996–1998. He has been a member of SACU since 1973.
McCrary, freelance writer, editor and researcher, joined the SACU Board of Directors in 1995. She has been a member of SACU since 1977.
Hayes, president of Activa Resources, LLC, was elected to the board in 2008. He previously served on the SACU Supervisory Committee from 1999–2008 and was supervisory committee chairman from 2003–2005. He has been a member of SACU since 1994.
Members also serving on the SACU Board of Directors include Samuel Idrogo, Michael A. Sellers, Sue E. Turner, Pat L. Wilson and David S. Velasquez.
