"These SACU scholarship recipients are primed for success in completing a bachelor's degree at a 4-year college or university. SACU is pleased to help support their move into the next stage of their education," SACU CEO Jeff Farver said.
SACU supports a broad range of educational programs in the community, including 13 years as co-sponsor for the ExCEL Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching. SACU also supports the High 5 Readers program with the Spurs Foundation; endowments at UT San Antonio, UT Health Science Center and University of the Incarnate Word; the SA Stock Show & Rodeo sponsorship, which raises money for scholarships; a mentoring program for students in local schools; and an employee tuition reimbursement program. SACU donations help support scholarships provided by Junior Achievement; the La Prensa Foundation; League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC); the Partners in Education Foundation; San Antonio Youth Literacy; and numerous others.
"For 75 years SACU has been a dedicated supporter of education. San Antonio is fortunate to have a strong community college system that helps students find their passion for learning. This scholarship program is just another way that SACU continues to expand its enduring support of education in our community, providing a benefit of SACU membership," Farver said.
