An SACU Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a competitive investment that is insured up to $250,000.1 Choose from a Coverdell Education Savings Account, Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Money Fund or an IRA Share Certificate.

Coverdell Education Savings Account
  Withdrawals for qualified education expenses are tax and penalty free

  Contributions may be made toward your child or grandchild's higher education until he/she reaches the age of 18

  Distribution of funds is required by the time the beneficiary reaches age 30, or funds can be transferred to another child

IRA Share Certificate
A contract between SACU and a member that gives the member an alternative way to invest his/her retirement funds for a specified period of time in order to earn a higher dividend rate and Annual Percentage Yield (APY).

  $500.00 minimum to open any one of our IRA Share Certificates (except the Liquid IRA Share Certificate)

  Withdrawals permitted without penalty after the age of 59½ and must start by April 1 following the year in which the member reaches 70½

  Must have earned income or be receive alimony to open

  May not be used as collateral on any type of loan.
